Ancient Chinese silk textiles
This rare group of textiles
date to the warring states period and are around 2400 years old, they
are the first depictions of dragons found in textile history.
These silks are warpfaced they were woven with the design sideways they are around 50 cm. across and incredibly fine.The finest of these is the one with the red strip. (below)
Exotically the red dye is mercuric sulphide
